City/County commission support plan to build new fire stations

City and county commissioners voiced general support Monday for new fire and medical stations that would cost an estimated $52.5 million, though some commissioners said they would like to see more options presented.

In this joint city and county commission meeting, I covered a plan that would bring more fire stations to the City of Lawrence. My editor contributed in this article to add more details about mill levys.

New Jungle House location

The owners of Jungle House, a local plant shop, are in the process of moving the store from its current building in East Lawrence to a new downtown location that’s set to open Wednesday.
