About Me

I am a senior at the University of Kansas studying multimedia journalism at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I am a student, aspiring storyteller and news junkie.

I love journalism because I love people – it is such a privilege to be entrusted with someone’s story. I firmly believe that you can’t be a journalist without loving others. My main career goal is to provide an outlet for anyone who has a story to tell. I am particularly interested in covering crime and public safety, but also love covering the day-to-day stories that make us human. I one day aspire to work in a newsroom as a breaking news reporter.

I recently finished a position as an intern for the Lawrence Times. Formerly, I have worked as a city commission reporter for the Eudora Times and as a copy editor, reporter, senior reporter and associate news editor at The University Daily Kansan, KU’s student-led newspaper. I am a 2023 White House Correspondents’ Association Scholar and in 2020, my senior year of high school, I was the 3A/4A state champion in news writing at the Kansas Scholastic Press Association state contest.

When I’m not writing, you can find me marching in the University of Kansas marching band, crocheting, volunteering at the local animal shelter, or spending time outdoors.
